PSX Announces Revised Trading and Settlement Schedule for Split Deliverable Future Contracts

Karachi: The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) has issued a notification about changes to the trading and settlement schedules for Deliverable Future Contracts (DFC) for October and November 2024. These adjustments are in response to the book closure of Interloop Limited, which has influenced the original schedule set for these months.

According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the revised schedule affects the DFC for October (OCT-2024) and November (NOV-2024), initially announced through PSX notifications PSX/N-724 on July 26, 2024, and PSX/N-840 on August 30, 2024, respectively. The adjustments are detailed as follows:

- For OCT-2024, trading will close on October 2, with settlement finalized by October 4. - For NOV-2024, the contract will maintain the opening date of September 2, but will now close on October 2, with settlement due by October 4.

Additionally, the schedules for contracts without the entitlement benefits (OCTB and NOVB) have also been adjusted: - OCTB will open on September 27 and close on October 25, with settlements finalized by October 29. - NOVB will open on September 27 and close on November 29, with settlements due on December 3.

These revisions ensure that trading does not conflict with the cum-benefit and ex-benefit periods associated with Interloop Limited's corporate actions. PSX has also reserved the right to further modify these dates or adjust the length of the contracts if necessary.

Market participants are advised to take note of these changes, especially those trading shares of Interloop Limited, as trades during the OCTB and NOVB contracts will not be eligible for benefits payments and will be traded on an ex-benefit basis.
