Islamabad: Trading and settlement dates for Deliverable Future Contracts (DFC) for October 2024 have been established, according to a recent announcement from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX).
Trading for DFCs set to expire in October 2024 will commence on July 29, 2024, and conclude on October 25, 2024, with the settlement of these contracts scheduled for October 29, 2024. This schedule pertains to various incoming securities listed in the recent PSX notice, confirming the addition of several companies to the DFC market. Among the notable inclusions are Fatima Fertilizer Company Limited, Flying Cement Company Limited, and Octopus Digital Limited, amongst others.
According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), this arrangement ensures continued compliance and alignment with market practices and participant expectations. Additionally, PSX has retained the authority to alter these dates or adjust the contract terms should the need arise.
Furthermore, the announcement detailed a specific subset of securities that will only be eligible for the October 2024 DFCs and will not be carried forward into future listings. This includes Engro Powergen Qadirpur Limited and National Foods Limited, indicating a dynamic adjustment in the eligible securities for trading under the DFC market.
Annexure A, attached to the notification, comprehensively lists the securities eligible for trading, encompassing a wide range of sectors from banking to manufacturing. This list includes major firms like MCB Bank Limited, Engro Corporation, and Pakistan Petroleum Limited, thereby encapsulating a significant portion of the market's diversity.
