REVISED TRADING AND SETTLEMENT SCHEDULE ANNOUNCED FOR MCB AND UBL FUTURE CONTRACTS

Karachi: According to the latest update from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the trading and settlement schedule for Deliverable Future Contracts (DFC) of MCB Bank Limited and United Bank Limited will see significant changes due to the upcoming book closure dates of these entities.

The Pakistan Stock Exchange has issued notifications PSX/N-840 and PSX/N-949, dated 30th August and 27th September 2024 respectively, outlining alterations in the schedule for DFC-NOV-2024 and DFC-DEC-2024. According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), for both MCB and UBL, the trading and settlement on a cum-benefit basis for November contracts will commence on 2nd September 2024 and close on 28th October 2024, with the settlement scheduled for 30th October 2024. The December contracts follow the same timeline.

Moreover, the schedule for trading without the entitlement of benefits, under the contract symbols NOVB and DECB, will also undergo adjustments. The NOVB contracts will open on 24th October 2024 and conclude on 29th November 2024, with the final settlement on 3rd December 2024. Similarly, the DECB contracts will start on 24th October 2024 and end on 27th December 2024, with settlements on 31st December 2024.

The rollover period for the affected securities is set for three trading days, from 24th October to 28th October 2024. It is crucial for market participants to note that trades of the specified securities in NOVB and DECB contracts during this period will not be eligible for the payment of benefits and will be traded on an ex-benefit basis.
