Revised Trading Schedule Announced Due to Split of Deliverable Future Contracts

Karachi: The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) has announced a revised trading and settlement schedule for deliverable future contracts (DFC) due to the upcoming book closure of The Organic Meat Company Limited (TOMCL). This adjustment affects the DFC contracts for January 2025, February 2025, and March 2025. These changes were initially communicated through notifications PSX/N-1031 dated 25th October 2024, PSX/N-1144 dated 29th November 2024, and PSX/N-1272 dated 27th December 2024.

For the TOMCL, the trading and settlement schedule on a cum-benefit basis will proceed as follows: The January contract opened on 28th October 2024 and will close on 24th January 2025, with settlement on 28th January 2025. The February contract commenced on 2nd December 2024, also ending on 24th January 2025, with settlement on 28th January 2025. Similarly, the March contract began on 30th December 2024 and will close on 24th January 2025, with the same settlement date of 28th January 2025.

The PSX also outlined the trading and settlement schedules without entitlement to benefits: The FEBB contract will open on 22nd January 2025 and close on 28th February 2025, with a settlement date of 4th March 2025. Meanwhile, the MARB contract will also open on 22nd January 2025, closing on 27th March 2025, with settlement on 3rd April 2025.

According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), trades occurring in the shares of TOMCL under the FEBB and MARB contracts will be conducted on an ex-benefit basis and will not qualify for entitlement. The overlapping period for the mentioned security is set for three trading days, from 22nd January 2025 to 24th January 2025.
