Karachi: Safe Mix Concrete Limited has announced that seven individuals have filed their candidacy for election as directors at the company’s forthcoming Annual General Meeting (AGM), slated for October 28, 2025, at the Naya Nazimabad Gymkhana in Karachi. The meeting is scheduled to commence at 10:30 a.m. and will also be accessible via video conferencing.

According to the notification released by the company under Section 159(4) of the Companies Act, 2017, the individuals who have declared their intention to stand for election include Syed Najmudujja Jaffri, Mr. Abdus Samad Habib, Mr. Muhammad Kashif, Mr. Abdul Qadir, Mr. Ahsan Anis, Mr. Muhammad Siddiq Khokhar, and Mrs. Anna Samad. Notably, Syed Najmudujja Jaffri, Mr. Abdul Qadir, and Mr. Muhammad Siddiq Khokhar have been designated as independent directors, while Mrs. Anna Samad is noted as the female director candidate.

According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the notification regarding the election has been circulated among certificate holders of the exchange. This step complies with Regulation No.5.6.9. of the PSX Regulations, ensuring transparency and adherence to regulatory protocols.

The company clarified that since the number of candidates equals the number of director positions available, as stipulated by Section 159(1) of the Companies Act, 2017, the seven individuals will be deemed elected without the need for a formal vote. Their tenure will officially begin on October 28, 2025, and will span a three-year period.

The profiles of the candidates have been made available on the company’s website under the “Election of Directors” tab. The independent directors are in compliance with Section 166 of the Companies Act, 2017, as well as the Listed Companies (Manner and Selection of Independent Directors) Regulations, 2018.
