Saudi Pak Consultancy Company Faces Extended Trading Suspension Amid Regulatory Issues

Karachi: Trading in the shares of Saudi Pak Consultancy Company Limited will remain suspended, following a decision by the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) due to ongoing regulatory non-compliance. This suspension is set to last until the issues are resolved or for an additional 60 days from May 07, 2025.

The company has been unable to address several critical compliance issues. These include the suspension of its commercial production and business operations in its principal line of business, as well as a disclaimer of opinion issued by its statutory auditor in the audit report. Additionally, the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) has canceled the company’s Non-Banking Finance Company (NBFC) license.

According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the decision to extend the trading suspension is grounded in the powers granted to the Exchange under Sub-Section (7) of Section 19 of the Securities Act, 2015, and clause 5.11 of the PSX Regulations.

The suspension will continue until Saudi Pak Consultancy Company Limited rectifies the causes of the suspension or until the lapse of an additional 60-day period from the stated date. The company's situation highlights ongoing challenges in compliance with regulatory standards set by the PSX and SECP.
