Security Investment Bank Records Minor Move in Half-Year Performance

Karachi: The Board of Directors of Security Investment Bank Limited convened on August 27, 2025, to discuss the financial performance for the half-year ending June 30, 2025. The meeting concluded with a decision not to issue any cash dividends, bonus shares, or right shares for this period.

The financial results for the first half of the year reveal a minor move in earnings, as evidenced by the basic and diluted earnings per share standing at 0.358, compared to 0.655 in the previous year. The bank’s income from financing and placements reached 28.45 million, while returns on securities were recorded at 32.18 million. Notably, there was no gain on the sale of shares this year, a stark contrast to the 14.96 million reported in the same period last year.

According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), operating expenses for the bank amounted to 39.10 million, resulting in an operating profit before tax of 22.06 million. The unrealized gain on remeasurement of investments, classified as fair value through profit or loss, was recorded at 2.60 million. This led to a total profit before taxation of 22.06 million, which, after accounting for taxation of (0.89) million, resulted in a profit after tax of 21.17 million.

The bank’s performance over the half-year demonstrated a minor move, reflecting a steady financial standing despite a reduction in earnings per share compared to the previous year. The financial results underscore the bank’s operational resilience amidst fluctuating market conditions.
