Karachi: Shaffi Chemical Industries Limited released its financial performance results for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2025, revealing a noticeable decline in both revenue and profit margins compared to the previous year.
The company reported a revenue of 23.68 million rupees for 2025, a very large or significant move of 17% up from 20.24 million rupees in 2024. However, the cost of sales also rose sharply, impacting the gross profit which fell to 3.65 million rupees from 4.24 million rupees, marking a big move in decline.
Administrative expenses more than doubled to 3.76 million rupees, further straining profitability. Other expenses significantly decreased to 193,140 rupees from 2.47 million rupees. The company noted a profit from operations at 1.97 million rupees, a considerable increase from the previous year’s 213,640 rupees.
Despite these operational profits, Shaffi Chemical Industries faced a substantial finance cost of 7.16 million rupees, contributing to a loss before levy and taxation of 28.67 million rupees, nearly double the 14.29 million rupees loss recorded the previous year. The share of income loss from the associated company also worsened, reaching 23.49 million rupees.
According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the company’s profit after taxation plummeted to a loss of 29.11 million rupees, compared to a 14.98 million rupees loss the prior year. This marks a very large or significant move in losses. Earnings per share dropped to negative 2.43 rupees from negative 1.25 rupees.
The statement of cash flows revealed a net cash usage of 4.13 million rupees in operating activities, a reversal from the 3.27 million rupees generated in the previous year. Financing activities, however, provided a net cash inflow of 4.48 million rupees, attributed primarily to loans from associated companies.
In closing, Shaffi Chemical Industries Limited witnessed a net increase in cash and cash equivalents to 1.14 million rupees at the end of the fiscal year, up from 789,321 rupees at the beginning.
