Shaheen Insurance Schedules Extraordinary General Meeting in Karachi

Karachi: Shaheen Insurance Company Limited has announced the scheduling of its Extraordinary General Meeting (EOGM) to take place on June 22, 2026, at 2:30 p.m. The meeting is set to be held at the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan’s auditorium in Clifton, Karachi, as detailed in the company’s official notice.

The EOGM, announced in accordance with Clause 5.6.9 of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) Rule Book, will address the election of seven directors to serve a three-year term commencing June 11, 2026. The board set this agenda during its meeting on May 18, 2026. The retiring directors eligible for re-election include Air Vice Marshal Junaid Ahmed Siddiqui (Retd.), Air Vice-Marshal Muhammad Qaiser Janjua (Retd.), Air Commodore Wasim Ahmed Khan (Retd.), Air Commodore Amer Altaf (Retd.), Mr. Adeel Ali, Ms. Farrah Azeem Khan, and Mr. Jehangir Shah.

According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the company’s share transfer books will remain closed from June 16, 2026, to June 22, 2026, inclusive. Transfers received by the close of business on June 15, 2026, will be considered for the EOGM.

The company is facilitating participation via video link for shareholders. Members wishing to attend electronically must register by June 13, 2026, to receive access credentials. Additionally, the company has provided mechanisms for voting through an e-voting procedure and postal ballot, in line with the Companies (Postal Ballot) Regulations, 2018.

Shaheen Insurance emphasizes the importance of shareholders claiming any outstanding dividends or shares promptly to avoid government transfer under the Companies Act, 2017. Moreover, the company urges shareholders with physical share certificates to convert them into book-entry form to ensure secure and efficient share management.
