Karachi, Shield Corporation Limited, a renowned company in the corporate sector, has officially notified all its members regarding the upcoming election of directors. Pursuant to section 159(4) of the Companies Act, 2017, seven individuals have expressed their intention to stand for election as directors at the Extraordinary General Meeting scheduled for July 20, 2023.

Since the number of candidates offering themselves for election is equal to or less than the number of directors fixed by the Board in accordance with section 159(1) of the Companies Act, 2017, all seven candidates will be deemed elected at the forthcoming Extraordinary General Meeting.

Among the candidates, Mr. Muhammad Rafique Umer Afinwala and Mr. Abdul Ghaffar Umer Kapadia have been chosen as Independent Directors based on their competencies, diversity, skills, knowledge, and experience. Their selection aligns with the requirements of section 166 of the Companies Act, 2017, as well as the Companies (Manner and Selection of Independent Directors) Regulations, 2018.
