Karachi: Siddiqsons Tin Plate Limited has announced the withdrawal of its earlier notice for the closure of its tinplate manufacturing plant in Winder, Balochistan, citing revised board decisions and altered circumstances. The facility has resumed operations as of the end of this week, as confirmed by company officials today.
According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the decision follows guidelines set forth in Section 96 and 131 of the Securities Act, 2015, and Clause 5.6.1 of the PSX Regulations. This move comes after a board meeting on September 16, 2024, where directors assessed new conditions and opted to continue the plant’s operational activities.
The reopening of the plant is significant for the local economy in Balochistan, potentially safeguarding jobs and continuing the production line that had been slated for shutdown. The decision has been communicated to TRE certificate holders of the Exchange, ensuring that all regulatory requirements and stakeholder notifications are adhered to comprehensively.
