Silkbank Seeks Further Extension for 2021 Annual General Meeting

Islamabad: Silkbank Limited has officially requested an additional extension for conducting its Annual General Meeting (AGM) for the fiscal year ended December 31, 2021. The bank announced its intention to apply to the Islamabad High Court for more time to organize the overdue meeting.

According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), Silkbank communicated to the exchange that the Hon'ble High Court of Islamabad has been approached with an application for this purpose. The court, having reviewed Silkbank's request, deliberated in detail and subsequently adjourned the decision on the extension of the AGM until September 12, 2024. This development followed the court's order issued on August 8, 2024, which was received by the bank after the closure of business hours on August 13, 2024.

Silkbank has been directed to update the TRE Certificate Holders of the Exchange regarding the court's decision and the pending AGM schedule. This ongoing delay highlights the procedural steps the bank is taking to comply with regulatory requirements and legal scrutiny.
