Karachi: Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) has been denied an extension for the release of its nine-monthly accounts for the period ending March 31, 2025, following a formal request made to the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP). The decision was communicated through a letter from SECP dated May 6, 2025, which stated that no legal provisions exist to grant such an extension.
The application for the extension was initially submitted by SNGPL on April 22, 2025, seeking a 60-day delay from the date of the Annual General Meeting (AGM) for the financial year 2023-24. The Company aimed to defer the circulation of its financial accounts due to unspecified reasons. This request has now been formally dismissed by SECP, citing the absence of any legal framework permitting the extension.
According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the decision impacts TRE Certificate Holders of the Exchange, who are being notified accordingly. The denial implies that SNGPL must adhere to the existing timeline for the submission and circulation of its financial documents as originally scheduled, without additional delay.
The situation places SNGPL in the spotlight as it navigates the compliance requirements set forth by the regulatory body. The outcome of this decision and its implications on the Company’s financial reporting and investor relations remain to be seen.
