Karachi: Sui Southern Gas Company Limited (SSGC) has been granted a 30-day extension to hold its Annual General Meeting (AGM) and to present its financial statements for the year ending June 30, 2025. The extension was approved by the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) under sections 132 and 223 of the Companies Act, 2017.
The company initially sought this extension in a letter dated September 30, 2025, requesting additional time to convene the AGM and lay the audited financial statements before its shareholders. The SECP responded by issuing a letter, dated October 17, 2025, granting the extension up to November 27, 2025. This decision allows the company additional time to prepare for the meeting and ensure compliance with the regulatory requirements.
According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), Sui Southern Gas Company Limited is a significant entity in the energy sector’s designated market category. The extension reflects the regulatory flexibility extended to companies to ensure accurate and thorough financial disclosures.
The SECP’s letter also noted that the extension is granted without prejudice to any action that may be taken for non-compliance with the Companies Act, 2017. This underscores the importance of adhering to statutory requirements while providing necessary leeway to accommodate operational challenges faced by corporations.
