Lahore: The Bank of Punjab has scheduled an Extra-Ordinary General Meeting (EOGM) for its members, set to convene at Khursheed Mahal, Avari Hotel, Lahore on September 8, 2026, at 11:30 a.m. This meeting is designated to address both ordinary and special business matters crucial to the bank's operations and strategic direction.
Among the agenda items, the confirmation of the minutes from the 35th Annual General Meeting, which took place on March 26, 2026, stands as the primary ordinary business. This procedural step ensures that previous decisions and discussions are acknowledged and documented accurately.
A significant highlight of the special business to be discussed is the proposed equity injection by the Government of the Punjab (GoPb) amounting to up to PKR 30 billion. This substantial financial move is aimed at bolstering the bank's capital structure and enhancing its financial stability. According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), this proposed injection represents a very large or significant move, reflecting a strategic effort to strengthen the bank’s fiscal resilience and support its growth initiatives.
Additionally, the meeting will consider amendments to the Board's Remuneration Policy, an item previously withdrawn during the 35th Annual General Meeting. This policy amendment seeks to align the bank’s remuneration practices with its strategic goals, ensuring competitive and fair compensation for its board members.
The EOGM will also address any other business matters that arise, with the permission of the Chair, allowing for flexibility in the meeting's proceedings to accommodate unforeseen issues or opportunities for discussion.
