Lahore: The Crescent Textile Mills Limited has reported its financial results for the first quarter ending September 30, 2025, revealing a net loss after taxation amounting to 25,633 thousand rupees, compared to a loss of 165,706 thousand rupees in the same period last year. This financial disclosure was approved by the company’s Board of Directors in a meeting held on October 30, 2025.
The financial statements show a total revenue of 4,840,062 thousand rupees for the first quarter, marking a significant increase from 3,991,382 thousand rupees reported in the previous year. Despite this growth in revenue, the cost of sales rose to 4,248,924 thousand rupees from 3,473,429 thousand rupees, resulting in a gross profit of 591,138 thousand rupees, up from 517,953 thousand rupees last year.
Operating expenses, including distribution and administrative costs, stood at 368,268 thousand rupees, compared to 307,719 thousand rupees in the corresponding quarter of 2024. Other income for the period was recorded at 21,162 thousand rupees, a decrease from the 56,739 thousand rupees reported last year. Consequently, the profit from operations amounted to 244,032 thousand rupees, down from 266,973 thousand rupees.
The company’s finance cost for the quarter was 215,424 thousand rupees, a reduction from the previous year’s 379,817 thousand rupees. The resulting loss before taxation was 25,633 thousand rupees, showing an improvement from the 165,706 thousand rupees loss reported in the same period in 2024. The loss per share is calculated at 0.26 rupees, compared to a loss per share of 1.66 rupees last year.
According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the company’s share capital and reserves showed a minor move with a decrease in fair value reserve from 2,146,663 thousand rupees to 2,071,294 thousand rupees. Non-current liabilities decreased from 621,642 thousand rupees to 538,322 thousand rupees, while current liabilities increased to 13,261,648 thousand rupees from 12,913,088 thousand rupees.
The comprehensive loss for the period totaled 101,002 thousand rupees, which includes a deficit arising from the remeasurement of investments at fair value through other comprehensive income amounting to 75,369 thousand rupees. Despite this, the company managed to generate a net increase in cash and cash equivalents, closing the quarter with 253,843 thousand rupees.
The Crescent Textile Mills Limited reported no cash dividends, bonus shares, right shares, or any other corporate actions for the quarter. The company’s total assets stood at 26,435,698 thousand rupees, a slight increase from 26,271,460 thousand rupees as of June 30, 2025.
