Karachi: The Organic Meat Company Limited (TOMCL) has announced a significant milestone in its international market expansion, becoming the first Pakistani meat producer to qualify for direct export to Carrefour Majid Al-Futtaim - Hyper Market LLC (MAF) in the United Arab Emirates. The announcement, made on August 7, 2025, marks a major step forward in the company’s strategic growth and operational excellence.
According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), TOMCL achieved this certification after successfully completing Carrefour's comprehensive Systems, Hygiene, and Operational Excellence Audit. The company achieved an impressive score of 94.89%, demonstrating its adherence to international standards and surpassing Carrefour's rigorous quality benchmarks.
As a result, TOMCL is now an approved vendor for Carrefour's UAE operations, significantly expanding its regional presence. This development is set to enhance the company's market penetration in the Middle East, allowing TOMCL to increase its export volumes and introduce premium product lines in high-value retail channels. Furthermore, this achievement is expected to bolster the company’s brand recognition within international retail and foodservice segments.
The management of TOMCL attributed this achievement to the company’s steadfast commitment to quality, traceability, and food safety standards. They expressed gratitude towards the Carrefour audit team and MAF Hypermarkets Pakistan (Private) Limited (Carrefour) for their support, alongside TOMCL's own technical and compliance divisions for their efforts in realizing this accomplishment.
This milestone not only opens new avenues for TOMCL but also contributes positively to Pakistan's reputation as a reliable provider of high-quality halal meat, enhancing the country's image on the global stage. The company remains dedicated to upholding the highest global standards as it continues to explore new opportunities in export markets.
