Trading in SME Leasing Limited Shares Suspended Amid Compliance Issues

Karachi: Trading in the shares of M/s. SME Leasing Limited will remain suspended due to ongoing non-compliance issues. The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) Notice No. PSX/N-772, dated June 23, 2026, initially addressed the suspension, which continues as the company has failed to rectify the causes of suspension. These issues include the failure to hold the Annual General Meeting, submit annual audited accounts, and address the adverse opinion issued by its statutory auditor. Additionally, the company's leasing license has been canceled by the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP), which has also ordered the filing of a winding-up petition in court.

According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the decision to maintain the suspension stems from the company's ongoing non-compliance with PSX Regulations 5.11.1.(b)(c)(g)(h), and 5.11.2.(a). The current suspension will continue for another 60 days from August 23, 2026, unless the company rectifies the compliance issues before then.

The decision has been executed under the authority granted to the Exchange by Sub-Section (7) of Section 19 of the Securities Act, 2015, and in accordance with PSX Regulations 5.11. The situation remains under close monitoring as stakeholders await further developments.
