Karachi: The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) has announced the resumption of trading for the Government of Pakistan (GoP) Ijarah Sukuk, following a temporary suspension. The affected issues, including the 3 and 5 Year Fixed Rental Rate (FRR) and the 10 Year Variable Rental Rate (VRR) Sukuk, will be available for trading again starting Monday, September 7, 2026. This development comes after an earlier suspension notice, PSX/N-1033, dated August 21, 2026, which addressed rental payment concerns.
The trading resumption is accompanied by a revision of profit rates for the instrument originally issued on March 7, 2025. The PSX has communicated that the 10 Year Variable Rental Rate (VRR) Sukuk, designated with the security code P10VRR070335, will now operate under a revised net profit rate. The net profit rate, previously set at 10.6089%, has been adjusted to 11.7097%, reflecting a significant move. This change follows the latest 6-month weighted average yield of 11.8197% as of September 2, 2026.
According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the revised rates will be applicable from September 7, 2026, until March 7, 2027. The changes are part of ongoing adjustments to align with market dynamics and ensure the smooth functioning of trading activities.
Market participants are advised to update their records in accordance with the revised rates and prepare for the resumption of trading in these Sukuk issues. This announcement marks a critical update for investors and stakeholders involved in the trading of these financial instruments.
