Karachi: Tri-Star Mutual Fund Limited has reported an increase in its net assets to 89.33 million rupees as of December 2024, up from 71.86 million rupees in June 2024. The firm's latest financial disclosures reflect a notable rise in its current assets, which totaled 117.15 million rupees in December 2024 compared to 93.07 million rupees reported in June 2024.
The mutual fund's investments saw a significant increase, reaching 115.34 million rupees at the end of December 2024, compared to 92.38 million rupees in June. Additionally, the balances with banks improved to 0.23 million rupees from 0.05 million rupees over the same period. However, there was a decrease in advance income tax and other receivables, which impacted the overall current assets.
Liabilities also saw an uptick, with current liabilities standing at 27.84 million rupees in December 2024, up from 21.22 million rupees in June 2024. This increase was primarily driven by higher payables to the investment adviser, which increased to 19.12 million rupees from 15.17 million rupees, alongside accrued expenses and unclaimed dividends.
The fund's certificate capital remained constant at 50.00 million rupees. However, there was an unrealized loss due to a change in the fair value of investments, which expanded to 4.32 million rupees in December 2024 from 2.08 million rupees in June 2024. This was offset by an increase in unappropriated profit, which grew to 43.65 million rupees from 23.94 million rupees in the same period.
According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the net asset value per certificate rose to 17.87 rupees in December 2024, compared to 14.37 rupees in June 2024. Despite the comprehensive loss reported for the period amounting to 2.24 million rupees, the fund's total comprehensive income for the previous period was 22.47 million rupees.
The financial report also highlighted a final dividend declaration of 10% for the year ending June 30, 2024, amounting to 5.00 million rupees. This dividend payout reflects the fund's commitment to returning value to its certificate holders despite the challenges posed by current market conditions.
