Karachi: Waves Corporation Limited has announced its financial results for the half-year ending June 30, 2026, showcasing a robust performance amid a stabilizing economic environment in Pakistan. The company highlighted significant improvements in both consolidated and standalone financial metrics, despite ongoing global economic challenges.
In the period under review, Waves Corporation reported a consolidated gross revenue of PKR 3,832.78 million, an increase from PKR 3,707.55 million in the same period last year, marking a very large or significant move of approximately 3.4%. Net revenue also rose to PKR 2,791.25 million from PKR 2,688.11 million, indicating a very large or significant move of approximately 3.8%. However, gross profit decreased to PKR 742.73 million from PKR 769.78 million, a decline of approximately 3.5%, categorized as a very large or significant move.
The company achieved a substantial improvement in profit from operations, which increased to PKR 1,076.19 million from PKR 795.73 million, representing a very large or significant move of approximately 35.2%. Profit before levies and taxation also saw a notable rise to PKR 571.10 million from PKR 473.31 million, a very large or significant move of approximately 20.7%. Moreover, profit after taxation increased to PKR 582.44 million from PKR 408.48 million, reflecting a very large or significant move of approximately 42.6%. Consequently, earnings per share improved to PKR 2.07 from PKR 1.45.
According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the results underline Waves Corporation’s effective strategies in operational efficiency and cost management, which have supported sustainable growth during the period.
On a standalone basis, the company’s income from subsidiaries was reported at PKR 165.12 million, a decrease from PKR 202.52 million in the corresponding period last year. Other income, however, rose significantly to PKR 402.89 million from PKR 173.89 million. Despite this increase, profit before levies and taxation was recorded at PKR 90.80 million, down from PKR 117.06 million, while profit after taxation stood at PKR 90.80 million compared to PKR 116.74 million last year. Earnings per share decreased to PKR 0.32 from PKR 0.41.
The standalone results mirror the financial performance of Waves Corporation as a holding entity, with a focus on income from subsidiaries and other income sources. The Board of Directors has decided not to recommend any payout to shareholders, considering the challenging economic and political conditions.
The financial position of Waves Corporation remains strong, with total equity and liabilities amounting to PKR 26,523.52 million as of June 30, 2026, up from PKR 25,046.63 million at the end of 2025. The company continues to demonstrate resilience and adaptability in the face of macroeconomic fluctuations, maintaining a solid foundation for future growth.
