Lahore: Zarea Limited, a leading player in Pakistan's B2B e-commerce marketplace, has reported a substantial increase in revenue and profitability for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2026, marking a significant milestone for the company. According to its annual report released on October 8, 2026, the group's consolidated revenue surged by 107% to PKR 2.77 billion, driven by robust growth in agricultural commodity trading and platform transactions.
The company's financial performance comes against the backdrop of Pakistan's economic environment, which recorded a provisional GDP growth rate of 3.7% for the year. This growth, led by the services sector, fell short of the targeted 4.2%. The economy's size reached PKR 126.9 trillion, with a per capita income of USD 1,901.
Zarea Limited, which was incorporated in 2020 and listed on the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) in 2025, has seen its platform usage fees rise by 17% to PKR 454.04 million, reflecting increased transaction volumes. Additionally, sales of agricultural commodities grew by 14%, amounting to PKR 2.30 billion. These figures underscore the company's expanding role in commodity procurement and e-commerce facilitation.
According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), Zarea's transformation into a public limited company and subsequent listing has been pivotal to its growth trajectory. The company has capitalized on Pakistan's digital transformation, leveraging technology to streamline operations and enhance user experience in the B2B marketplace.
Throughout the fiscal year, Zarea Limited invested significantly in infrastructure and technology, allocating PKR 336.48 million for logistics vehicles and PKR 108.97 million for software enhancements. The group also broadened its international footprint with Zarea Commerce-FZCO, contributing PKR 17.15 million to its revenue.
The issuance of PKR 1.00 billion in Sukuk certificates under a Shariah-compliant structure to finance working capital and expansion requirements was a noteworthy financial maneuver. The certificates were fully redeemed, including profit payments, by July 2028. Furthermore, Zarea declared its first cash dividend of PKR 1.00 per share, totaling PKR 262.50 million, for the year ending June 30, 2025.
The company's consolidated profit after taxation rose by 108% to PKR 1.39 billion, with earnings per share at PKR 5.31, up from PKR 3.04 the previous year. On a standalone basis, Zarea reported a revenue increase of 105.34% to PKR 2.76 billion and a profit after taxation of PKR 1.38 billion.
Despite the economic challenges, Zarea Limited remains well-positioned to capitalize on the stabilizing macroeconomic indicators, increased industrial activity, and growing agricultural output. The company's strong positioning in commodities, agri-biomass, and digital B2B trade is expected to sustain its growth trajectory in the coming years.
