Karachi: Zuma Resources Limited ("ZUMA") has formally announced the date of its book closure, scheduled for Saturday, August 29, 2026, to implement a significant change in the face value of its shares. The alteration, as per the letter dated August 19, 2026, will see the face value of ZUMA shares reduced from PKR 10 to PKR 2. The announcement was made available through the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) website.
In light of the book closure announcement, ZUMA's shares will undergo a modified settlement cycle for a single trading day on Friday, August 28, 2026, known as BC-1. Normal T+1 settlement will resume on Monday, August 31, 2026, which is the first working day following the book closure.
According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the opening price of ZUMA shares on Monday, August 31, 2026, will be adjusted to one-fifth of the closing price on the previous Friday. This adjustment is due to the stock split, which will increase the total number of ZUMA shares from 14.10 million to 70.50 million, while maintaining the company's paid-up capital unchanged.
Market participants are advised to take note of these changes as they prepare for the upcoming adjustments in ZUMA's stock trading framework.
