Zuma Resources Ltd Reports Significant Financial Downturn Amid Rising Costs

Karachi: Zuma Resources Ltd, formerly known as Bilal Fibres Ltd, has announced its financial results for the fiscal year ending on June 30, 2025, illustrating a sharp decline in profitability compared to the previous year.

The company reported a significant downturn with an operating loss of 2.44 million Pakistani Rupees for the year, a stark contrast to the operating profit of 44.32 million Rupees recorded in the year ending June 30, 2024. This represents a very large and significant move in the company’s financial performance.

Administrative expenses escalated to 3.92 million Rupees, compared to 867,537 Rupees in the previous fiscal year. Additionally, the finance cost soared to 40.13 million Rupees from 8.65 million Rupees, further impacting the company’s bottom line.

According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), Zuma Resources Ltd’s other income decreased to 41.61 million Rupees from 53.84 million Rupees, contributing to an overall loss before levy and taxation of 2.44 million Rupees.

The company did not incur any taxation for the fiscal year ending in June 2025, compared to a taxation expense of 3.14 million Rupees in the previous year. Consequently, the loss after taxation stood at 2.44 million Rupees, compared to a profit of 44.32 million Rupees in the prior year.

Earnings per share also reflected this downturn, with a basic and diluted loss of 0.17 Rupees, contrasting with earnings of 2.92 Rupees per share in the 2024 fiscal year. The financial performance of Zuma Resources Ltd is categorized under the designated market category of the Pakistan Stock Exchange.
