The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) has been alerted to prevent transactions involving these shares until the situation is resolved. This incident came to light in two separate notifications detailing the loss of share certificates by various shareholders including Mr. Mirza Abrar Abbas and Mr. Wan Ahmed.
In the first instance, Mr. Mirza Abrar Abbas reported the disappearance of share certificates totaling 307 shares. The certificates span numbers from 0062859 to 0135775, with distinctive numbers ranging from 0325714737 to 17739636813. According to the details provided, the lost certificates included different quantities of shares, 83, 99, 66, and 59 in each respective certificate.
In a similar but larger scale incident, another notification detailed the loss of share certificates belonging to multiple shareholders including Mr. Wan Ahmed, accounting for a total of 2,635 shares. The lost certificates in this notification span numbers from 0004860 to 0134124, with distinctive numbers ranging from 0015291851 to 1773560799. Mr. Wan Ahmed alone reported the loss of 399 shares with certificate numbers 0075482 to 0075485.
According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the exchange has been advised not to deal in these shares. Shareholders face a stringent deadline; if no objections are received within 7 days from the notice, Bank Alfalah will proceed with the issuance of duplicate certificates to the affected shareholders.
