MCB Investment Management Announces Alhamra Opportunity Fund Financial Results

Karachi: MCB Investment Management Limited has officially announced the financial outcomes for its Alhamra Opportunity Fund for the period ending June 30, 2024. According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the results were approved by the Board of Directors during a meeting on September 25, 2024, in Karachi.

For the fiscal period from February 27, 2024, to June 30, 2024, the Fund reported a total income of PKR 37.23 million, primarily composed of profit on savings accounts amounting to PKR 1.32 million, dividend income of PKR 5.03 million, net realized gains on investment sales totaling PKR 3.93 million, and a significant net unrealized appreciation on re-measured investments at PKR 26.94 million.

Expenses for the period were recorded at PKR 3.39 million, including management fees to MCB Investment Management Limited of PKR 1.58 million, sales tax, and other operating costs such as selling and marketing expenses and auditors' remuneration. After adjusting for expenses, the net income before taxation reached PKR 33.83 million. The total comprehensive income for the period also stood at PKR 33.83 million after taxation, with no deductions for other comprehensive income.

The detailed breakdown of the net income showed an allocation of PKR 27.35 million related to capital gains and PKR 2.32 million excluding capital gains, totaling PKR 29.67 million after accounting for income paid on units redeemed during the period. The report stated that earnings per unit (EPU) could not be disclosed due to the impracticality of calculating the weighted average number of units.

MCB Investment Management Limited will distribute the printed accounts among the members of the exchange as required. These results reflect the fund's robust performance during the specified period, supporting its position in the financial markets.
