Karachi: The Meezan GOKP Pension Fund, managed by Al Meezan Investment Management Limited, has reported significant gains in its half-year performance, leveraging strong market conditions and a robust investment strategy. According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the fund's net asset value increased from Rs. 100.00 at its launch on December 14, 2023, to Rs. 111.97 by June 30, 2024, marking a return of 21.95% during the period.
The money market sub-fund of the pension scheme generated a gross income of Rs. 8.6 million, with notable profits derived from Sukuks certificates and Islamic banking savings accounts. The total income, after accounting for minor expenses, resulted in a net income of Rs. 8.2 million for the fund. The total assets under management by the end of June stood at Rs. 110 million, illustrating the fund's capacity to capitalize on favorable financial instruments within the Shariah-compliant framework.
The fund's strategic asset allocation is specifically designed to optimize returns while adhering to the regulatory guidelines set by the commission, ensuring a blend of stability and profitability for investors seeking retirement solutions.
