Karachi: United Distributors Pakistan Limited has scheduled its 42nd Annual General Meeting (AGM) for October 28, 2024. The meeting will be held in Karachi and via video conferencing, facilitating shareholder participation across diverse locations.
The primary agenda for this year's AGM, set for late October, is to review and adopt the financial statements for the fiscal year that ended on June 30, 2024. These include the Chairman's Review and the reports from both the directors and the auditors. According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), shareholders will also confirm the minutes from the last AGM, which was held on October 27, 2023.
In addition to standard procedural matters, the assembly will address the reappointment of BDO Ebrahim and Co. as the company’s auditors. The firm, having served in the past year and being eligible for continuation, will potentially be tasked with overseeing the company’s audits through 2025, pending shareholder approval.
Another significant item on the agenda is the consideration of a dividend payment for the year. The specifics of the proposed dividend, however, were not disclosed in the preliminary notice.
The AGM will also provide a platform for any other business that may arise, with the permission of the Chair, emphasizing the company’s adherence to corporate governance standards and providing transparency to its shareholders.
