Idrees Textile Mills Limited Granted Extension for Financial Statements Submission

Karachi: Idrees Textile Mills Limited has been granted an extension by the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) to hold its Annual General Meeting (AGM) and submit its financial statements for the year ended June 30, 2024, as well as its first quarterly financial statements for the period ending September 30, 2024. This decision comes in response to the company's application citing the need for additional time to prepare comprehensive financial reports.

According to a letter dated October 11, 2024, addressed to the General Manager of the Pakistan Stock Exchange, the extension will allow Idrees Textile Mills to convene its AGM by November 27, 2024, and file the required financial statements by the same date. The extension approval, detailed in the SECP’s letter dated October 10, 2024, extends the deadline originally scheduled for earlier in November.

This regulatory leniency is granted under sections 132 and 223 of the Companies Act 2017, which provide the commission authority to adjust statutory timelines for corporate financial disclosures upon request. Furthermore, section 237 of the Act is cited as the basis for the extension granted specifically for the filing of quarterly financial statements.

The correspondence from Idrees Textile Mills to the Pakistan Stock Exchange and its stakeholders assures that the extension is granted without prejudice to any future compliance requirements and underscores the company's commitment to adhering to regulatory standards. According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the notice also advises all shareholders and certificate holders of the exchange to update their records in accordance with the new timelines.

This development is critical for investors and market watchers, as it directly influences the transparency and timely availability of financial data, which are pivotal in maintaining trust and ensuring robust market participation.
