Pakistan Stock Exchange Announces Adjustments to Trading and Settlement Schedule for Meezan Bank Limited’s Deliverable Future Contracts

Karachi: The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) has released a revised trading and settlement schedule for the deliverable future contracts (DFC) of Meezan Bank Limited due to a recent book closure date announcement. The affected contracts are the DFC-NOV-2024 and DFC-DEC-2024.

For Meezan Bank, the revised schedule on a cum-benefit basis will see the DFC-NOV-2024 contract opening on 02 September 2024 and closing on 25 October 2024, with the settlement scheduled for 29 October 2024. Similarly, the DFC-DEC-2024 contract will adhere to the same dates for both opening and closing, with its settlement also on 29 October 2024.

Conversely, the schedule without the entitlement of benefit outlines that the NOVB and DECB contracts will commence on 22 October 2024. The NOVB contract will close on 29 November 2024, with a settlement date of 03 December 2024. The DECB contract will conclude on 27 December 2024, settling finally on 31 December 2024.

According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), trades in the NOVB and DECB contracts of Meezan Bank will not qualify for benefit payments and will be traded on an ex-benefit basis. Furthermore, there will be a rollover period from 22 October 2024 to 25 October 2024 lasting four trading days.

The PSX has noted that it retains the right to modify these dates or adjust the duration of the contracts if necessary.
