The company has urged interested parties to confirm their participation by October 26, 2024, to facilitate preparations. According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the presentation materials for the CBS will also be made available on the company's website.
The session aims to address the company’s performance and financial health as reported in the recently disclosed documents. D.M. Textile Mills, established in 1958, has faced significant challenges, including a closure in 2014 due to financial pressures. Despite these hurdles, the company has pivoted towards real estate investments, with notable income from rentals and property sales contributing to a total revenue of 64.05 million PKR in 2024, a substantial increase from 28.42 million PKR in 2023.
The financial statements highlight total equity standing at 662.83 billion PKR, with total liabilities amounting to 123.49 billion PKR. The asset base is reported at 786.32 billion PKR, underpinned by non-current assets and significant cash reserves. Despite these assets, the company posted a net profit of 14.85 billion PKR in 2024, recovering from a net loss the previous year.
The company’s directors are optimistic about the strategic shift to real estate, which they believe will enhance competitiveness and financial stability. This redirection from traditional textile manufacturing to diversified investments is poised to leverage rising real estate demand. The management’s confidence in this shift is reflected in their commitment to revitalize the company's operations and ensure compliance with corporate governance standards.
The briefing will also provide an opportunity for shareholders to raise questions directly to the management, ensuring transparency and engagement in the company’s strategic decisions. The session underscores D.M. Textile Mills Limited’s efforts to navigate through its past financial complexities towards a sustainable future.
