Javedan Corporation Announces New Leadership and Auditor Appointments

Karachi: Javedan Corporation Limited has successfully concluded its 62nd Annual General Meeting on October 26, 2024, at Karachi, coupled with a virtual session via Zoom. This pivotal meeting led to the unopposed election of directors and the appointment of new executive roles, setting a robust administrative framework for the upcoming term.

During the AGM, shareholders approved the election of various directors under the defined categories of the Listed Companies (Code of Corporate Governance) Regulations, 2019. According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the newly elected board features a mix of independent and non-executive directors aimed at reinforcing the company's governance. Mrs. Darakshan Zohaib is highlighted as a key female director, with Mr. Abdullah Ghaffar, Mr. Shahid Iqbal Choudhri, and Mr. Muhammad Siddiq Khokhar serving as independent directors.

The company also announced significant executive appointments. Mr. Muhammad Arif Habib has been appointed as the Chairman of the company, and Mr. Abdus Samad has been reappointed as the CEO, both for a term of three years starting October 2024. These appointments reflect a strategic continuity and leadership stability within Javedan Corporation.

Additionally, the AGM saw the appointment of M/s. Reanda Haroon Zakaria Aamir Salman Rizwan and Company, along with M/s. Yousuf Adil Chartered Accountants, as the new external auditors.
