PSX Announces Updated List of Eligible Securities for Deliverable Futures Market

Karachi: The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) has completed its quarterly review of futures eligible securities, aimed at refining the list of securities available for trading in the Deliverable Futures Contract (DFC) market. This review, conducted in compliance with the amended eligibility criteria sanctioned by the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan, evaluated data from the past six months ending on December 31, 2024.

The updated list includes securities newly added as eligible for trading, while some securities will only remain eligible for a single 90-day contract, specifically DFC-APR-2025, before being potentially removed unless they meet ongoing criteria. Existing contracts, such as DFC-FEB-2025 and DFC-MAR-2025, will continue to be available until their respective expiries. Additionally, a few securities will retain their eligibility status temporarily under the relaxation rule of the eligibility criteria, with a warning that they may be excluded in future reviews if they fail to meet the necessary quantitative measures.

The PSX has provided detailed information in 'Annexure A' regarding the incoming and outgoing securities, as well as those maintaining their eligibility. The finalized list is available in 'Annexure B'. According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), further trading schedules and relevant updates will be announced shortly.

This move is expected to bring clarity and precision to the DFC market, ensuring that only the most qualified securities are traded, thereby enhancing market stability and investor confidence. As the designated market category, the DFC market plays a crucial role in facilitating strategic investment opportunities and risk management for traders and investors in Pakistan.
