Lahore: Ahmad Hassan Textile Mills Limited has responded to recent media reports questioning the company's handling of supply chain information, following a letter from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) dated December 11, 2024. The company emphasized its commitment to transparent and timely disclosures of any significant information impacting its operations.

The controversy arose from reports suggesting the International Cotton Association (ICA) had not been informed about certain supply chain developments. Ahmad Hassan Textile Mills clarified that the board of directors deemed the information non-significant, as it did not materially affect the company's operations, revenues, or profitability. The company stated that alternative sources for cotton were available in the market, mitigating any potential impact.

Since the demerger in 2019, Ahmad Hassan Textile Mills has focused exclusively on its weaving unit, requiring yarn instead of raw cotton. This strategic shift further insulated the company from any supply chain disruptions related to cotton.

According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), Ahmad Hassan Textile Mills maintains its position that the media reports do not constitute price-sensitive information. Consequently, the company has requested the Exchange to withdraw the notice demanding clarification.
