Unusual Movement in Idrees Textile Mills Limited Shares Prompts Regulatory Scrutiny


Karachi: Idrees Textile Mills Limited (IDRT) has recently been under the spotlight following an unusual movement in the price of its shares, leading to regulatory intervention. The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) has observed significant fluctuations in the stock price, which has triggered compliance measures in accordance with the Securities Act, 2015, and PSX Regulations.



The Securities Act, 2015, specifically Section 97, along with clause 5.6.3 of PSX Regulations, mandates that listed companies disclose any pertinent information to the public if there is unusual movement in the price or volume of their traded securities. In response, IDRT is required to either provide details of any known matter or development relevant to these movements or declare that it is not aware of any such factors.

Such information must be promptly disseminated through PSX as stipulated under PSX Regulation 5.6.1.



IDRT has been advised to furnish comprehensive information to clarify its position regarding the unusual share price movements. This is in accordance with PSX Regulation 5.6.3, which requires listed companies to provide sufficient information promptly through PUCAR for public dissemination. The designated market category under scrutiny is the textile sector.
