Habib Insurance Company Reports 22.37% Increase in Quarterly Profit


Karachi: Habib Insurance Company Limited has reported a significant increase in its profit after tax for the first quarter of 2025, according to its unaudited accounts presented by the company’s directors. The company recorded a profit after tax of Rs. 93.5 million for the period ending March 31, 2025, marking a 22.37% rise from Rs. 76.4 million in the same period last year. This increase translated to an earning of Rs. 0.75 per share.



The company also reported an underwriting profit of Rs. 5.2 million, a substantial turnaround from a loss of Rs. 33.6 million during the first quarter of 2024. The gross written premium for the period stood at Rs. 661.5 million, slightly up from Rs. 659.3 million recorded in the corresponding period of the previous year.



Investment income and other income for the quarter reached Rs. 154.2 million, compared to Rs. 125.1 million in March 2024. This increase is largely attributed to higher capital gains recorded during the reporting period.



According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the performance of the company in the designated market category has shown marked improvement in its financial metrics.



The directors expressed optimism about the company’s future, attributing the positive results to favorable market conditions and strategic management decisions. They also extended their hopes for continued progress throughout the year and the economic stability of the country.
