Karachi: The Pakistan Stock Exchange Limited has announced a re-composition of the JS Momentum Factor Index (JSMFI), effective from June 10, 2025. This adjustment comes as part of the regular re-evaluation according to the relevant index rules, marking changes in the composition of the index.
The re-composition exercise, completed as of May 30, 2025, led to several changes in the companies listed on the index. Among the new entrants are Attock Refinery Limited, D.G. Khan Cement Company Limited, Engro Holdings Limited, Flying Cement Company Limited, Frieslandcampina Engro Pakistan Limited, K-Electric Limited, National Refinery Limited, Pakistan Refinery Limited, and Pakistan Telecommunication Company Ltd. These companies replace Crescent Steel & Allied Products Limited, Lucky Cement Limited, Meezan Bank Limited, National Bank of Pakistan, Power Cement Limited, Sazgar Engineering Works Limited, Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited, Sui Southern Gas Company Limited, and United Bank Limited.
According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the updated constituents of the JSMFI, along with their respective weights in the index, are as follows: D.G. Khan Cement Company Limited (20.00%), Maple Leaf Cement Factory Limited (20.00%), Attock Refinery Limited (14.98%), Engro Holdings Limited (13.32%), Pakistan Refinery Limited (9.33%), Frieslandcampina Engro Pakistan Limited (5.53%), Pakistan Telecommunication Company Ltd (5.30%), K-Electric Limited (5.09%), National Refinery Limited (4.87%), and Flying Cement Company Limited (1.57%).
These changes reflect a strategic shift in the market composition, representing companies from sectors such as cement, energy, and telecommunications. The updated index weights will be implemented starting Tuesday, June 10, 2025, and are expected to influence investment decisions and market trends in the designated market category.
