The acquisition, which took place on June 5, 2025, involved purchasing 32,285,640 voting shares of the bank at a price of Rs 2.87 per share. This transaction represents an 11.33% share of the company's total issued voting shares.

The acquisition was made by a group residing in Lahore, increasing their collective shareholding to 32,285,640 shares from a previous position of none. The Securities Act mandates disclosure of substantial acquisitions to ensure transparency and maintain investor confidence.

The details of the beneficial owners were disclosed as follows: Mr. Ali Pervez Ahmad acquired 15,150,000 shares, representing 5.32% of the paid-up capital, at an average price of Rs 2.81. Mr. Suleman Ahmed purchased 9,435,740 shares, equivalent to 3.31% of the capital, at Rs 3.22 per share. Mrs. Rehana Pervez Ahmad obtained 6,200,000 shares, making up 2.18% of the capital, at Rs 2.58 per share. Mr. Hassan Ibrahim Ahmad acquired 1,050,000 shares, representing 0.37% of the capital, at Rs 2.46 per share. Lastly, Mr. Rakae Ali Ahmad purchased 449,900 shares, or 0.16% of the capital, at Rs 2.71 per share.
