Mashreq Bank Opens Non Broker Clearing Member Account with NCCPL

Karachi: Mashreq Bank Pakistan Limited has activated its Non Broker Clearing Member account with the National Clearing Company of Pakistan Limited (NCCPL), marking a significant step in the financial institution's operations. The activation is set to be effective from June 16, 2025, and will allow Mashreq Bank to engage in direct clearing and settlement processes.

The move facilitates the bank’s ability to manage risk through the Institutional Delivery System (IDS) module of the National Clearing and Settlement System (NCSS). This development is part of the Financial Institutions Margining System initiative, which aims to streamline and secure financial transactions for participating entities.

Mashreq Bank Pakistan Limited now holds the Clearing Member ID 20636 in the regular market transaction category. This activation underscores Mashreq Bank's commitment to enhancing its operational capabilities and aligning with the industry's best practices.

According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the activation of such accounts is a critical component in advancing the financial infrastructure of the country. The process enables financial institutions to independently clear and settle transactions, potentially increasing efficiency and reducing risks associated with market operations.

The integration into the NCCPL's systems is expected to provide Mashreq Bank with improved transaction processing capabilities, offering a robust framework for managing financial operations within the designated market category. The NCCPL's role as a central clearing and settlement entity ensures that financial institutions like Mashreq Bank can operate with a higher degree of reliability and security.
