Alfalah Consumer Index Undergoes Re-Composition: Changes Announced in Key Constituents

Karachi: The Pakistan Stock Exchange Limited has announced the latest re-composition of the Alfalah Consumer Index (ACI) as of June 30, 2025. The exercise, undertaken in accordance with the relevant index rules, introduces changes to the index's constituent companies.

Maple Leaf Cement Factory Limited and GlaxoSmithKline Pakistan Limited have been added to the index, replacing Cherat Cement Company Limited and Ferozsons Laboratories Limited, respectively. The inclusion and exclusion of these companies are part of a periodic review to ensure the index accurately reflects market performance.

According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the updated ACI now comprises a total of 20 companies, with Lucky Cement Limited, Pakistan State Oil Company Limited, and Millat Tractors Limited, each holding a weight of 10.00% within the index. The newly added Maple Leaf Cement Factory Limited holds a weight of 8.69%, while GlaxoSmithKline Pakistan Limited carries a weight of 5.45%.

Other significant constituents within the index include Fauji Cement Company Limited, D.G. Khan Cement Company Limited, and Sui Northern Pipelines Limited, with respective weights of 8.39%, 7.94%, and 7.29%. The index also features companies from various sectors, including engineering, textiles, and food, such as Sazgar Engineering Works Limited and Unity Foods Limited.

This re-composition is part of the Pakistan Stock Exchange's ongoing efforts to maintain the integrity and relevance of the ACI, ensuring it reflects the changing dynamics of the market. The next review is anticipated to bring further adjustments as market conditions evolve.
