Suspension of Trading in Shares of Three Companies Announced by PSX

Karachi: The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) has announced the continuation of suspension of trading in the shares of three companies, as detailed in a notice issued on July 23, 2025. The decision follows a prior notice dated May 23, 2025, and affects Schon Textiles Limited, Zeal Pak Cement Factory Limited, and Security Leasing Corporation Limited.

Schon Textiles Limited faces suspension due to multiple regulatory defaults, including failure to hold annual general meetings, non-submission of annual audited accounts, non-payment of dues, and non-induction of its ordinary shares into the Central Depository System (CDS). Furthermore, an official liquidator has been appointed by the court following a winding-up petition filed by the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) against the company.

Zeal Pak Cement Factory Limited has also failed to meet several regulatory requirements. The company did not hold its annual general meetings, neglected to submit its annual audited accounts, and has outstanding dues with the Exchange, leading to the suspension of its trading activities.

Security Leasing Corporation Limited has suspended commercial production and business operations in its principal line of business. According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the company also received an adverse opinion in the independent auditor's report, had its leasing license canceled by the SECP, and is currently facing winding-up proceedings initiated by the SECP.

The Pakistan Stock Exchange Limited has determined that trading in the shares of these companies shall remain suspended until the causes of suspension are rectified. Alternatively, the suspension will continue for another 60 days starting July 24, 2025. The decision has been made under the authority granted to the Exchange by Sub-Section (7) of Section 19 of the Securities Act, 2015, and Clause 5.11 of the PSX Regulations.
