Karachi: The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) has announced the induction of Raqami Islamic Digital Bank as a trading participant for proprietary trading in Government of Pakistan (GoP) Sukuk. This move follows the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan's (SECP) approval under the provision to Regulation 6.1(q) of the PSX Rulebook.
The announcement, dated July 21, 2026, refers back to PSX Notice# PSX/N-1205 issued on December 16, 2024. It outlined the criteria for granting trading system access to Commercial Banks and Mutual Funds, which are Debt Market Clearing Members (DMCMs) of the National Clearing Company of Pakistan Limited (NCCPL). According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the induction of Raqami Islamic Digital Bank comes after the completion of necessary documentary, operational, and technical requirements.
Under the approved mechanism, the newly inducted trading participant will be eligible to engage in proprietary trading of GoP Sukuk issued through primary market auctions at PSX. However, the approval strictly limits their trading activities to GoP Sukuk for their proprietary accounts. Trading in other fixed income securities available in the Bills and Bonds (BnB) market, including both Corporate Debt Securities and Government Debt Securities, remains prohibited for such trading participants.
