Siemens Pakistan Reports Mixed Financial Results for June Quarter

Karachi: Siemens (Pakistan) Engineering Co. Ltd. has released its un-audited condensed interim financial statements for the quarter ending June 30, 2026. The results, approved by the board of directors in Munich, Germany on July 29, reveal a complex financial landscape marked by both losses and profits.

For the quarter, Siemens Pakistan reported net sales and services amounting to 5.35 million, compared to 6.46 million in the same period last year. The cost of sales and services decreased to 4.43 million from 5.32 million, resulting in a gross profit of 923,834, down from 1.14 million, indicating a big move in financial performance.

Marketing and selling expenses slightly increased to 884,692 from 844,395, while general administrative expenses rose to 150,825 from 102,639. The reversal of expected credit losses showed a positive turn, recording 1,973 compared to 50,085 previously.

Siemens Pakistan's net other operating income was 23,026, a moderate move from a loss of 33,120 recorded in the previous year. This led to an operating loss of 86,684, a significant shift from the profit of 213,403 in the previous year.

According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), Siemens Pakistan's financial income rose to 306,036 from 271,988, while financial expenses increased to 41,100 from 32,310. Net financial income stood at 264,936, up from 239,678, documenting a moderate move.

The profit before levy and income tax from continuing operations was 178,252, a substantial decrease from 453,081, while the profit before income tax from continuing operations was 43,384, down from 363,352. After accounting for a levy of 134,868 and an income tax charge of 66,195, the net loss for the period from continuing operations stood at 22,811, contrasting with last year’s profit of 44,965.

For discontinued operations, Siemens Pakistan reported a net profit of 724,087. Overall, the net loss for the period was 22,811, markedly different from the total profit of 769,052 reported last year.

In terms of earnings per share, the company reported a basic and diluted loss of 2.77 Rupees per share, compared to last year's earnings of 93.25 Rupees. From continuing operations, the earnings per share were reported as a loss of 2.77 Rupees, compared to 5.45 Rupees previously.
