MCB Investment Management Limited Reports Financial Results for Pakistan Capital Market Fund

Karachi: The Board of Directors of MCB Investment Management Limited, the management company of the Pakistan Capital Market Fund, approved the financial results for the year ended June 30, 2026, during a meeting held at the company's head office in Karachi on August 4, 2026.

The company's income statement reveals a total income of 309.64 million rupees for the year, an increase from the previous year's 275.38 million rupees. This represents a big move of 12.45% compared to the prior year. The increase was driven by capital gains on the sale of investments, which rose to 132.03 million rupees from 95.73 million rupees in 2025. Dividend income, however, saw a reduction, falling to 35.09 million rupees from the previous year's 43.28 million rupees. Profit on bank deposits increased to 33.32 million rupees, up from 23.73 million rupees.

In terms of expenses, the management company reported total expenses of 40.09 million rupees, an increase from 30.86 million rupees in 2025. The remuneration of MCB Investment Management Limited, the management company, was reported at 29.05 million rupees, compared to 22.25 million rupees the previous year. Additional costs included Sindh sales tax on the remuneration of the management company and trustee, as well as the annual fee to the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan.

Net income for the year before taxation stood at 269.55 million rupees, up from 244.52 million rupees in 2025, reflecting a moderate move of 10.23%. The net income for the year after taxation remained the same at 269.55 million rupees, as there was no taxation applied.

According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the allocation of net income for the year included net earnings of 269.55 million rupees, from which income already paid on units redeemed amounted to 21.37 million rupees. This resulted in a total of 248.18 million rupees available for distribution.

The accounting income available for distribution relating to capital gains was reported at 221.86 million rupees, while the income excluding capital gains amounted to 26.32 million rupees. These figures indicate significant positive movement from the previous year's figures of 198.42 million rupees and 35.62 million rupees, respectively, in the designated market category.
