MCB DCF Income Fund Reports Significant Decrease in Annual Income

Karachi: The Board of Directors of MCB Investment Management Limited, the management company of MCB DCF Income Fund, announced the financial results for the year ending June 30, 2026, during a meeting at their Head Office in Karachi on Tuesday, August 4, 2026. The report highlighted substantial changes in the fund's income and expenses over the past year.

The MCB DCF Income Fund reported a total income of 1.98 billion rupees for the year ended June 30, 2026, compared to 3.42 billion rupees in the previous year. This represents a significant move with a decrease of 42.22%. The decline was notably impacted by a reduction in income from government securities, which dropped to 1.19 billion rupees from 2.66 billion rupees in 2025. Additionally, income from term finance certificates and sukuk certificates fell to 133.82 million rupees from 222.96 million rupees.

Despite these declines, the fund reported an increase in profit on bank deposits, which rose to 536.86 million rupees from 148.76 million rupees the previous year. Income from new sources, such as musharika and commercial papers, also contributed positively with 3.71 million rupees and 13.78 million rupees, respectively. However, capital losses on the sale of investments amounted to 73.26 million rupees, contrasting with a capital gain of 377.40 million rupees in 2025.

According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the expenses for the fund also saw a change, decreasing to 378.59 million rupees from 456.29 million rupees in the prior year. This reduction in expenses was attributed partly to lower remuneration costs for MCB Investment Management Limited and decreased Sindh Sales Tax on remuneration.

The net income for the year after taxation stood at 1.60 billion rupees, a substantial decrease from the previous year's 2.97 billion rupees. The allocation of net income for the year after accounting for income already paid on units redeemed resulted in 506.27 million rupees available for distribution, a sharp decline from 1.08 billion rupees in 2025.

This financial report reflects the challenges faced by the MCB DCF Income Fund over the past year, highlighting a shift in income sources and the impact of market dynamics on the fund's overall financial performance.
