Pakistan Stock Exchange Retains NBPPGI Constituents Following Re-Composition

Karachi: In a recent announcement, the Pakistan Stock Exchange Limited has confirmed the re-composition of the NBP Pakistan Growth Index (NBPPGI) as of July 31, 2026. According to the latest report, dated August 6, 2026, there will be no changes to the current index constituents.

The Pakistan Stock Exchange's decision means that the existing companies will maintain their positions and weights in the NBPPGI. The top constituents include Fauji Fertilizer Company Limited with a weight of 10.00%, followed closely by United Bank Limited at 9.82%, and Oil & Gas Development Company Limited at 9.78%. Other significant entities in the index are Pakistan Petroleum Limited and The Hub Power Company Limited, weighted at 9.02% and 8.39%, respectively. National Bank of Pakistan also holds a notable position with an 8.28% weight, representing its influence in the financial sector.

The re-composition exercise follows the relevant index rules, as detailed on the PSX website. This process ensures that the index remains aligned with market dynamics while maintaining transparency. According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the exercise aimed to assess the market standings without altering the index's existing structure.

The updated index will take effect on Friday, August 7, 2026. The decision reflects the stability of the current constituents, which include major players like Meezan Bank Limited at 7.01% and Engro Holdings Limited at 6.72%. Other notable companies within the index are Lucky Cement Limited, Mari Energies Limited, and Habib Bank Limited, which have weights of 6.52%, 5.86%, and 5.23%, respectively.
