Lalpir Limited Joins Consortium for FESCO Divestment Through Privatisation

Lahore: Lalpir Limited, previously known as Lalpir Power Limited, has announced its participation in a consortium aimed at facilitating the divestment of the Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO) through a privatisation process. This move was officially sanctioned by the company's Board of Directors, according to a report dated August 6, 2026.

The consortium, which includes prominent entities such as Pakgen Limited, Nishat Mills Limited, Nishat Power Limited, Nishat Chunian Power Limited, Kohinoor Energy Limited, and Pak Elektron Limited, has designated Pakgen Limited as the Lead Consortium Member. This appointment empowers Pakgen Limited to act as the true and lawful attorney for the consortium, granting it the authority to conduct all related business activities during the privatisation procedure.

According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), Lalpir Limited has not yet assumed any binding obligations concerning this transaction. This step remains contingent upon pre-qualification by the Privatisation Commission and the acquisition of all necessary corporate and regulatory approvals. The company has committed to keeping the stock exchange informed of any material developments related to the privatisation process.

Lalpir Limited, which operates from its registered address at Nishat House, 53-A, Lawrence Road, Lahore, has expressed its intent to fully engage in the consortium's activities, with Mr. Khalid Mahmood Chohan serving as the company's secretary and primary contact. The company has reiterated its commitment to transparency throughout the process, ensuring that stakeholders are promptly informed of any significant updates.
