Karachi: The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) has announced the upcoming suspension of trading activities for the Discounted GIS P01GIS200826, a Government of Pakistan Ijarah Sukuk, due to its maturity payment. The sukuk, originally issued on August 21, 2025, is set to reach maturity on August 20, 2026. The trading suspension is scheduled to commence on August 17, 2026, and will conclude on August 19, 2026.
The suspension will affect not only trading activities at the PSX but also the clearing and settlement processes at the National Clearing Company of Pakistan Limited (NCCPL) and movements in Sub Accounts/Investor Accounts at the Central Depository Company (CDC). The shut period for the CDC is slated from August 18, 2026, to August 19, 2026.
According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), all market participants and eligible investors are advised to take note of these dates to ensure compliance and avoid disruptions in their trading activities related to the GIS.
The maturity payment is part of the regular financial operations associated with the sukuk, and eligible investors will receive their payments as scheduled. All concerned parties are requested to adhere to the specified timelines and arrangements as detailed in the official notice.
