Trading Suspension in SME Leasing Limited Shares Extended Following SECP Order

Karachi: The Pakistan Stock Exchange has announced an extension of the suspension of trading in the shares of M/s. SME Leasing Limited. The decision comes in connection with ongoing non-compliance issues as specified in PSX Notice No. PSX/N-772 dated June 23, 2026. The suspension will remain in effect until the causes of non-compliance are addressed or for an additional 60 days starting from August 23, 2026.

According to the report dated August 21, 2026, SME Leasing Limited has yet to resolve several compliance issues under PSX Regulations 5.11.1.(b)(c)(g)(h), and 5.11.2.(a). The company's non-compliance includes failing to hold its Annual General Meeting, not submitting the annual audited accounts, receiving an adverse opinion from its statutory auditor, and the cancellation of its leasing license by the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP).

SECP has also issued an order for filing a winding-up petition in court due to these persistent issues. According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the continuation of the suspension aligns with the authority exercised under Sub-Section (7) of Section 19 of the Securities Act, 2015, and relevant PSX Regulations.
