Karachi: A notice issued by FAMCO Associates (Pvt) Limited has detailed the loss of several share certificates, raising security concerns for investors in Karachi. The report, dated August 21, 2026, highlights the disappearance of certificates from major firms, including Thal Limited, Pakistan Petroleum Limited, and Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited.

According to the notice, multiple share certificates of Thal Limited have been reported lost as of August 18, 2026. The affected shareholder, Ms. Hamida Bai, residing in Phase 6, D.H.A., Karachi, has lost certificates totaling shares in the hundreds. Specific details note distinctive numbers ranging from 20195204 to 74499560, indicating significant holdings are now unaccounted for.

In a similar vein, Pakistan Petroleum Limited has multiple shareholders reporting lost certificates. Shah Nawaz Abbasi from Sunny Bank, Murree, and Mrs. Mariam from Phase 8, D.H.A., Karachi, are among the affected. Notably, Abbasi's loss involves certificates with distinctive numbers reaching up to 2.27 billion, suggesting high-value shares are missing. Mrs. Mariam's certificates cover a wide range, including distinctive numbers up to 1.71 billion.

Further compounding the issue, another shareholder, Mst. Iqbal Begum of Gujranwala, reported lost share certificates from Pakistan Petroleum Limited as well. Her holdings, while smaller, still cover a significant range of distinctive numbers, from 754275585 to 1305016191.

Meanwhile, Mr. Parkash Lal of Shahdad Kot Sindh reports the loss of share certificates from Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited. His situation involves certificates with distinctive numbers from 86668301 to 86668500, impacting a total of 200 shares.
